MINOR ADJUSTMENTS
Tao is no gateway to utopia.
The sage inhabits reality.
Tao is no panacea.
The sage leads no charmed life.
Tao is no liberator.
The sage enjoys freedom by limitation.
Tao is nothing extraordinary.
The sage is no-one special.

Their job!
Tao presses no claim to be a vital ingredient in
attempting to perfect an individual, a community or a society.

attaining such ideals, regarding them as unnatural extremes.
Whilst
recognising such phenomena as visions, revelations,
supernatural influences or secret knowledge,
Taoism is wary of over-emphasising their importance,
regarding them essentially as irrelevant distractions.
