A
spirit's spirit;
a ghost's ghost.
The moment that is coming;
the moment that
has gone.
The beginning
of a circle;
the ending of a circle.
The hollowness
within the tree;
the hollowness without the tree.
Is Tao any thing?
Or any nothing!
Attempts
to describe the 'properties' of Tao have included such
concepts as an infinitely fine thread,
or of a tenuous substance percolating through infinitesimal
'cracks' or 'gaps' in the material universe.
Whilst these
are only intended as analogies, parallels have
been drawn with hypothetical models in quantum
physics,
and employed speculatively as evidence to the 'truth'
of Taoist philosophy. Tao needs none of this! Tao just is;
or is not!
